NorthWest Reading Council Report – October 2012
The North West Reading Council is still looking for members to become active in our area. You are welcome to join the Saskatchewan Reading Council at any time and then benefit from living in the northwest. We are based in the northwest of Saskatchewan. Our school divisions are Lloydminster Public, Northwest, Living Sky, Light of Christ, Lloyd Separate, and Biggar Separate.
The North West Reading Council will be inviting schools to make submissions into the Young Saskatchewan Writers Publication. This will be coming out to members sometime in May/June. Our deadline for submissions is February 1, 2013. If you would like to participate in this rewarding activity please contact me (Emilie Wolfe) at e.wolfe@loccsd.ca and I will send you information.
You are invited at anytime to become a member of the Saskatchewan Reading Council. Please look at our website saskreading.com/membership/ for membership information and how to become involved. The NWRC is always looking for people to become a volunteer and help support reading in our area.

Membership Director Report for January
The last few months have been an exciting and very rewarding experience. I have been learning so many new things and meeting so many new people. Everyone in the SRC donate so much of their free time to promoting literacy to all and have a great time doing so.
We have started off the year changing some of our boundaries of our local councils around to meet the needs of the new school division boundaries. We have found this is easier to get our information out to you so you know what is happening in your area. If you haven’t heard anything about the Saskatchewan Reading Council in your area please contact our website, saskreading.org and find your local president and let them know you are interested. If you are interested in becoming a member, then print off the membership form on the website and send it off to me and I will get everything going for you. With our Conference coming up soon, get your membership into me as soon as possible and then you get a reduced rate at registration.
Our local councils are all reaching towards an award called the Prairie Lily Award. This award is given to each local council who reaches a goal of so many new members and so many renewing members. You will want to contact your local council area to see what exciting events are happening in your area.
I want to put out a huge thank you to everyone who has renewed or become a member over the last few months. I continue to update the membership list and send the cheques off to the STF to be deposited at the end of every month. Please keep the memberships coming in. Also look for an exciting membership special at our Saskatchewan Reading Council Conference on April 19-21 for next year!
